Recap of the meeting

Suggestions:

1. Two groups

GROUP A: Raman, Binu, Ajith, Neel, Ram, Mathew, Sunil, Bhanu

GROUP B: Selva, Marg, Ramana, John, Atul, Jessie, Sudhakar, Arun

2. Points : Winner : 4 points for a win
3. Loser : 0 points for losing in two sets, 1 point for losing in three sets
4. Tournament kick off on 4/9
5. Group A at Mission (1st choice), Group B at Oholone(1st Choice)
6. 1…4 from each group to form TOP half. Bottom 4 from each group to make BOTTOM half.
7. Format same for both half’s from 1^st match to finals. 
8. 1vs4, 2vs3 semis for each group
9. 3^rd and 4^th between losing semifinalists for each group
10. 5vs6, 7vs8 for each group to decide the ranking 1..16
11. If a match is stopped for any reason in the middle of a set, the match will continue from the same score. No rematch / re-start of the set.
12. All players will try to play the matches either at Mission or Ohlone(if Mission not available). Milpitas can be the venue if both players / both teams are in agreement
13. Two way tie is resolved by placing the winner of the match played between the players
14. Three way tie is resolved by a) one set play off between three players b) if still a tie, number games won by a player c) if still a tie, coin toss will decide the ranking  
15. Starting from 16, the player can pick anyone from rest as the doubles partner (#14 applied)
16. Suggested - doubles finalists can’t be paired for 2011
17. If we fail to find the18^th player or no drop outs during the singles, Raj replace Ramana for the doubles. Raj will carry the ranking of Ramana.
18. Winner/runner and losing semi finalists to get prizes in singles
19. Winner/runner to get prize in doubles
20. Matches involving Jessie to have start time 8:15am
21. No Sunday match for Jessie
22. No conference, shoe exercise in the middle of a game.
23. No Umpire for any match. Let the players / teams work it out amongst them. Volunteer umpiring left for the players. Only the two (4) players views will be considered by the arbitration committee.
24. If a player withdraws from the tournament at any stage, the points earned against the player will be dropped
25. Replacement to be decided for doubles. The player(s) will be paired with the unselected player(s)
26. Arbitration committee to resolve any dispute (suggested names: Neal, Selva and Hari). The committee can reach out to Raj for opinion. The committee decision is final and binding.
27. All players please communicate your India or long vacation plans ASAP
28. Create a group ID for ladies!
29. Organizing BBQ on 9/10/2011 to be left to ladies
30. Prize distribution and boy’s only evening on 1/7/2012.
